We pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere
of fellowship and community.
The great Harvard biologist, Lewis Thomas once observed that in
nature, there is no such thing as "an ant." Ants come in families, colonies,
communities - never alone. Jews are much the same way. We Jews need one another.
We need community to share life, a circle of friends for support and
celebration, a congregation to share our prayers and dreams, rabbis and teachers
to help us grow.
Valley Beth Shalom is a warm community of wisdom and welcome. We would be
delighted to welcome you!
Valley Beth Shalom has gained a national reputation for its programs in Jewish
learning and living. Here, you will find a place of deep thoughts and deeply
thoughtful people. We offer a variety of prayer services, courses of learning,
and celebrations of Jewish culture. Our schools provide outstanding Jewish
education to children from infancy through high school. Our community is made up
of Jews of many backgrounds. We are proud to include Jews of Ashkenazic and
Sephardic heritage as well as Jews from Persia, Israel, and Mexico,
Jews-by-Birth, Jews-By-Choice and gay or lesbian Jews. Valley Beth Shalom reaches out to those in
interfaith relationships and mixed families and those who are interested in
returning to their Jewish roots.
You are always welcome to visit Valley Beth Shalom. Please call our synagogue
office, 818-788-6000 for a schedule of services, classes and programs. (Let us
know you’re coming, and we’ll have someone ready to show you around!) Check out
our website. Come meet our community.
