VBS MENS GROUPA Special Invitation to VBS Men From Rabbi Feinstein
There are a lot of things our Dads taught us about being men: to work hard, to respect the women in our lives, to tie a tie, to throw a curve ball. But as weve matured we discovered all the things Dad never revealed: how to cope with our ferocious drive to succeed, how to find some balance between home and work, and how to keep marriage alive. For these, it seems, were on our own. Occasionally we find another guy whose advice and support we respect a friend to share wisdom, experience, frustration, fear and hope. We thank God for these friends because they are so rare. Ive come to the conclusion, from my own experience, that men need a special place to talk, to share, and to learn from one another. Lets make that place the Temple. I am inviting a select group of men to join me for a program of dinner and discussions during the course of the coming year. Well meet on six evenings during the year: a buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by a program of serious reflection and honest discussion on issues touching our lives as men. I want to talk about success and what it means to be a success, about marriage, about being a Dad and having a Dad, and about growing old. I hope to bring together the psychological resources, the spiritual wisdom of the Jewish tradition, and our own experiences and insights. For more information, please call Rabbi Feinstein at ext. 104
