Summary |
There are no words to fully express our gratitude and appreciation for your caring response to us over the past month. The time of healing and recovering has been essential to our well-being. We're thankful for the signs of improvement we've seen each day. We have received positive evaluations from our neurologist and other care takers, and I am looking forward to returning to work and service in the community. This evaluation is deeply welcomed by our entire family. I will be participating in leading High Holiday prayers. In good time, I hope to return fully to my responsibilities at Valley Beth Shalom.
The spiritual and emotional impact of this experience and subsequent recovery are still unfolding for our family. We have learned a great deal from this time in our lives and we take great inspiration from the teachers of our tradition. Please join us on Shabbat services this Saturday, August 31, 2013, to share a blessing with our family as we are called to the Torah to recite the Gomel prayer. This prayer is shared by a community when an individual has survived a traumatic illness, accident or injury.
Our wish is that this holiday season will reveal profound truths and even deeper understandings of health, both physical and spiritual. As our family stands with you and yours this holy season, we pray that we all may be blessed with a year of health and recovery, a year of learning and growth, and a year of prosperity and joy. L'Shanah Tovah Tikateivu v'Teichateimu!
