Our commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) continued this Sunday as our 7th-grade class embarked on their 4th social action field trip with Tzedek America, this time exploring the theme of Food Justice. Our visit to Wattles Farm Community Garden highlighted the importance of local agriculture and its benefits to community members. Lunch at Vegan Exchange was followed by a meaningful engagement with EveryDay Action, an organization tackling food waste by leftover catered food from TV and Film sets and distributing it to shelters and those in need. Our students contributed by helping package 443 care packages, embodying the very essence of Tikkun Olam through their actions and compassion. By exposing our students to the broader community's challenges and needs, we're not only broadening their perspectives but also empowering them with avenues to make a meaningful difference. This initiative and partnership with Tzedek America is especially significant during their Bar Mitzvah year and beyond, embodies the essence of Tikkun Olam—taking actionable steps towards helping our community and those in need.
Looking Ahead: A Month Full of Programming
As we reflect on a weekend full of gratitude and a Sunday dedicated to social action, we are reminded of the power of community and the impact of our collective efforts. With a full month of programming ahead, we eagerly anticipate more opportunities to learn, celebrate, and serve together.
Thank you for being an integral part of our VBS family. Your participation and support make all the difference.
