2024-2025 ENROLLMENT OPEN!

We are excited to introduce our 5th and 6th Grade Experiential Enrichment Academies at the Etz Chaim Learning Center (ECLC)! This year, we have completely reimagined our approach to Hebrew education, creating a dynamic and engaging environment where students can connect with Jewish culture, learn Hebrew fun and interactively, and deepen their connection to Israel.

Our academies are designed to offer students unique learning experiences that go beyond traditional classroom settings. Through hands-on activities and real-world applications, we aim to make learning personal, engaging, and fun, while also strengthening their Jewish identity and love for Israel. Here’s a look at what we’re offering this year:

  • Music Academy: Led by the VBS Associate Music Director Daniel Reijman, students will have the opportunity to learn and practice their favorite instruments while exploring Jewish prayers and popular VBS melodies. This academy combines musical skill-building with an appreciation for Jewish musical heritage, creating a harmonious blend of education and enjoyment.

  • Technology Academy: In partnership with the VBS Day School Technology Lab, our Technology Academy immerses students in cutting-edge technological projects. They will explore Generative AI, engage in creative learning through digital design, and work with tools like 3D printers and laser cutters. This academy focuses on Jewish traditions and Hebrew through innovation and critical thinking, making technology accessible and exciting.

  • Culinary Academy: In collaboration with the Culinary Judaic Academy, students will learn about Judaism, Hebrew, and Jewish traditions through the culinary arts. By preparing recipes from around the world, they’ll explore Jewish values and heritage in a deliciously engaging way. (Note: This academy is currently full.)

  • Sports Academy: Our newest addition, in partnership with the VBS Day School Athletic Department, offers students the chance to practice their favorite sports while learning Hebrew through fun, game-based activities. They’ll also learn about Jewish and Israeli athletes and Israeli sports legends like Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Maccabiah Games, enhancing their physical, cultural, and Jewish education.

This innovative approach to learning is unlike any other Hebrew school. It combines academic rigor with a "camp-like" spirit. It ensures that students not only improve their Hebrew skills but also build a strong sense of community, Jewish identity, and connection to Israel.
