Shalom ECLC Families,

A Joyful Musical Shabbat Dinner

Last Friday, we celebrated our second ECLC Musical Shabbat Dinner, which was a resounding success, welcoming over 120 parents and students. The evening was led by Rabbi Nolan, Rabbi Yael, Cantor Rafii, Daniel Raijman, and a talented percussionist Daniel Feldman, providing an enriching service filled with music, spirituality , and meaning. The dinner, catered by LA Kisher, offered a wonderful opportunity to connect with families and strengthen our community ties. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us; your presence and support are what make our community thrive.

Exploring Israeli Culture and Cuisine

This Tuesday, we dive deeper into Israel & Israeli culture with two exciting sessions from Unpacked for Education. The first session for 5th-7thdiscussed why Israel is ranked gradersas the fifth happiest place to live, despite its complex geopolitical challenges. The second session for all students 2nd-7th explored the culinary delights that have become staples of Israeli cuisine, such as Sabich, Malawach, and Burekas. These discussions are part of our ongoing introduction of Sephardic and Mizrahi heritage, this session highlighting the diverse cultural contributions that shape Israel today.

VBS Purim Celebration and Reflection

As we celebrated Purim yesterday with our annual spiel WICKED them with wonderful performance by Cantor Rafii the youth choir, our hearts were heavy yet hopeful. This festival of salvation and triumph over those who seek to harm us echoes through our current times. As we rejoice, we also remain vigilant and committed to securing the freedom of the 59 hostages still in captivity in Gaza. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this reflective time.

ISRAEL AT WAR

It has been a challenging 526 days since the attack on Israel, a time that has tested our strength and resilience as a community. We are heartened by the successful return of 147 hostages, a testament to our unwavering hope and determination. However, we mourn the loss of 8 brave souls—men, women, and children—who were tragically taken from us by the violence of Hamas.

As we continue to stand together, we must keep the remaining 59 hostages in our prayers, channeling our collective strength into support and compassion. Let us unite in our efforts, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and solidarity, as we lift up those affected by this crisis and work towards bringing every single hostage home. Together, our prayers and actions can truly make a difference, reinforcing the warmth and kindness that define our community.
