Miriam's Cup: Create A New Ritual Object for the Seder
Miriam's cup on a Seder table is a contemporary ritual to honor the role of Miriam (Moses' sister) in the Exodus from Egypt, as well as the roles of many remarkable women throughout Jewish history and in our lives.
In this three week class, you will learn more about Miriam and other Jewish heroines, about the art of glass etching, and you will create a beautiful etched glass Miriam's cup for your seder.
Facilitator: Judy Hendlish has been teaching art and Judaic studies and integrating the two for many years at local Jewish Day schools. At VBS, she designed the curriculum and taught at the Fine Arts Academy for the ECLC. She got her undergraduate degree at University of the Arts in Philadelphia and her degree in teaching at Hebrew Union College through their DeLeT Fellowship program.
