Matthew Weintraub
Matthew Weintraub
Executive Director
Matthew Weintraub joined Valley Beth Shalom as Executive Director in 2018. Prior to VBS, he served as the Associate Executive Director of IKAR, a spiritual community in Los Angeles, Director of Marketing and Communications at Temple Aliyah in Woodland Hills, Director of Marketing & Communications at Shalhevet High School, and Director of Talent Development at Professional Leaders Project. Prior to transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Matthew held communications and marketing roles at Cornerstone OnDemand (SaaS Software), Loeb & Loeb (law firm) and Bragman Nyman Cafarelli (PR).
Matthew has been very involved as a lay leader in the Jewish community, specifically focusing his time and efforts on Jewish education, Jewish camping, and social and economic justice issues. He was the founding President of the Board of Online Jewish Academy, which was named by Slingshot as one of the country's most innovative Jewish organizations. Matthew is a Wexner Foundation Field Fellow and an alumnus of the Progressive Jewish Alliance's Jeremiah Fellowship. He recently served on the Bureau of Jewish Education’s NextGen and Marketing Visibility committees, and is a board member for the IBD Support Foundation.
Matthew received an MBA with a focus on Nonprofits and Social Entrepreneurship from the Graduate School of Non-Profit Management at American Jewish University, and received a B.S. in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He lives in Sherman Oaks with his wife LeeAnn and two children, Noah and Madeleine, who are VBS Day School students.
