Maya Aharon
Maya Aharon
Director of Membership Engagement
Maya Aharon brings a wealth of experience, energy and passion to her role as Director of Membership Engagement at VBS. A native of Southern California, Maya graduated from Milken Community High School in 2004. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Jewish Studies from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2008 – Go Hoosiers!!!
Maya has been involved in numerous Jewish organizations such as Hillel, Camp Ramah and The Jewish Federation. Maya’s experiences as a participant on BJE March of the Living in 2004 ignited a passion for Holocaust Studies and education; and inspired her to work professionally on BJE March of the Living. Maya has been involved with BJE March of the Living since 2009 and previously served as the Director of Teen Experiential Education for BJE. In addition to BJE March of the Living, Maya oversaw the Teen Experiential Education department team, including the Directors of: BJE Teen Service Corps (a service learning summer camp for middle-school students), the Lainer Teen Fellowship, Service Learning Consultations with Jewish Educators and other innovative opportunities for Jewish teens in Los Angeles.
VBS is fortunate to welcome Maya and her family to our community. She and her husband Eddie (Ehud) are parents to daughter Abby, who is enrolled in VBS Day School, and son Eitan.
