As told in the Book of Esther, the Jews of Shushan were nearly destroyed by King Achashverosh's evil advisor, Haman. Thanks to Mordechai’s faith, and Queen Esther’s courage, the future of the Jewish people was saved.
To celebrate their new freedom, the Jews of Shushan enjoyed festivities and joyful merriment, sending treats and sweets to friends and neighbors, thus beginning the tradition of Mishloach Manot! Annually participating in this mitzvah ensures that we take the time to pause and reflect upon our love and gratitude for each other and our VBS family.
Valley Beth Shalom has curated a Mishloach Manot gift package for each of our member families. During the week of Purim, we invite ALL members to join us at VBS for joyous celebrations and to receive your Mishloach Manot gift (one per family)!
How Does It Work?
VBS has created delightful Purim gift packages for our whole community based on our annual theme!
Every VBS member family, teacher, clergy and staff person will receive a gift package from VBS. By participating in the Mishloach Manot initiative, you will fulfill the mitzvah of gift giving during Purim.
To be recognized on the Mishloach Manot listing, contribute to a group of recipients at VBS using the form below, or choose "The Whole Megillah" which includes every member family, teacher, clergy and staff person at VBS!
What's in the package?
It will be a wonderful and thoughtful surprise containing sweets, goodies, and meaningful gift products relating to our annual theme. Each gift package will include a customized greeting card explaining our annual theme and why each item was selected, as well as a personalized list of names of all those who gifted their Mishloach Manot to you!

How do I receive my Mishloach Manot gift package?
Join us at VBS during the week of Purim to receive your gift! If you are unable to attend Purim festivities, your gift package can be picked up anytime from the VBS Main Office, or if you are a VBS Schools family, we can arrange to send your gift home with your child.
When is the ordering deadline?
Please sign up by Friday, February 17, to ensure that your name is included on the printed card.
