Renee Kalmanson
Renee Kalmanson
ECC Director, Administration & Operations
Renee joined the ECC administrative team in 2018, bringing with her five years of experience as an early childhood classroom teacher. Now in her 8th year at the ECC, Renee is excited to step into her new role as School Director, Administration & Operations. She holds a California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit and has participated in two prestigious fellowships in Jewish Early Childhood Education: the Jewish Early Childhood Education Leadership Institute (JECELI) Fellowship, a collaboration between the Jewish Federation Los Angeles and the Jewish Theological Seminary, and the Positive Education Cohort through the Builders of Jewish Education (BJE). These experiences have equipped Renee with exceptional leadership skills, enabling her to manage and collaborate with our dedicated ECC educators effectively.
In her role, Renee works closely with the ECC administration and teaching staff to design, implement, and oversee the daily programming and operations of the center. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she took on the crucial role of Pandemic Response Coordinator and was recognized at the 2022 VBS Gala for her unwavering commitment to safeguarding our community during those challenging times. Renee is also a proud ECC parent; her daughter is set to start Pre-K this fall. Fun Fact: Renee is of mixed heritage—half Chinese and half Israeli—and was raised Jewish in Hong Kong.
