Shannon Nissan Rey

ECC Programs and Project Manager

Shannon Nissan Rey was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her Jewish education began at an early age, and continued through high school, giving her a solid foundation of strong Jewish values that she strives to pass along to children and families she works with. Shannon received a BA in Sociology and completed an early childhood education certificate program in preschool administration and management.

Shannon started her 17-year career in early childhood teaching in the classroom which led to an administrative position as an Enrichment and Curriculum Manager at an esteemed Jewish preschool not far from VBS. She has significant experience in developing and implementing summer camp and after school programs. This is Shannon’s second year at VBS and she looks forward to her new role this year as the ECC Programs and Project Manager where her work will focus on supporting new school initiatives and day-to-day operations. Shannon is organized, strategic and well respected by her colleagues across Los Angeles. In 2017, she was honored to receive the Smotrich Family Foundation Award of Merit for outstanding service in early education from the Bureau of Jewish Education (BJE-LA). She is excited to embark on this new journey as both a school parent and as part of the ECC administrative team. Shannon looks forward to getting to know all the incredible staff and families at VBS.
