Myra's Knitting Mavens and Piece by Piece
Myra’s Knitting Mavens (formerly "Knitting Needles")
This group meets monthly to knit, crochet and kibbitz
*** YARN DONATIONS APPRECIATED... Open skeins OK***
What: Join our group of committed VBS members who knit and crochet caps for cancer patients in local hospitals, blankets for newborn babies and knit hats for the IDF. Projects vary depending on the season. Yarn donations appreciated; open skeins accepted. Renamed in honor of beloved member Myra Shapiro, this group formerly known as "Knitting Needles" is now called "Myra's Knitting Mavens" in Myra's memory.
When: On the third Wednesday of the month from 10am–12pm
2024 Dates: January 17 • February 21 • March 20 • April 17 • May 15 • June 26
Where: At Valley Beth Shalom in the Youth Center (unless otherwise noted)
No age requirements. Yarn and instruction available at no charge!

Piece by Piece
What: Volunteers with Piece by Piece help build morale, self-esteem and creativity by teaching residents in underserved communities the skills to create beautiful works of mosaic art, giving them the tools and self confidence to assume more responsibility for their future. Volunteers assist artists creating mosaic vases, frames, tables and more. Artistic ability is not necessary to help this worthwhile program.
When: Afternoons, Weekends
